We all have been on what some people have called “lock down” for several months now. All of us are itching to get away for a few days, so staying close to home might be the best option. Travelers who have submitted their passport for renewal are finding the State Department might not be processing renewals or new passports until next year.

 

Staying close to home flights are shorter and the new regulations might be tolerable for a couple of hours. While most vacationers immediately think of the National Parks, it’s assured they will be crowded. I would not recommend jumping in your car and driving to the Parks, thousands are already getting their cars ready.   The smart plan is to try and find the perfect resort and discover the local sites and breathe the fresh air and relax.

A good travel agent has a arsenal of special resorts and hotels reserved for their favorite clients. These properties can be local boutique hotels in great cities that offer tours, restaurants, and great surroundings.

Think of Cities like Savannah, New Orleans, Charleston, Boston and even New York. States like Colorado, Utah, Georgia and Montana. New/Old resorts in the Poconos are popping back up.

Ever thought about a Dude Ranch? There are several in New York State and great working ranches in Wyoming that are rated 4-5 stars. Desert resorts with mountains and beautiful pools are ready for that perfect spa experience.
